So this is it...I have come to the conclusion that using livejournal (or any online blog-esque source) in order to pretend that I am doing a better job of keeping in touch with people than I actually am is in fact a rather narcissistic and ridiculously superficial means of conveying information. Therefore, within the next few days, the livejournal of one Jenna sparklebean shall dissapear into the digital abyss once and for all. In an attempt to remedy the situation, I am going to do my utmost to actually hold myself accountable for the task of writing and chatting with people individually, instead of in some one-size-fits-all-bonanza. Gracias to those who did opt to read...and always always always remember to rock on with your frock on!

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all my crazy chalupa-bean friends!!!! So last night was a hilarious pre-turkey noshing fiesta-esque adventure with Marc---beginning at Bertuccis and concluding at Barnes and Noble with a huge and fabulous stint at Jordan's Furniture in between! We wandered from room to room testing out beds, deconstructing the aesthetic merits of wall hangings, and making little ridiculous changes in some of the rooms like little five year olds. Par example: one of the 'kids' rooms had these giant weird and not-a-little-bit freakish stuffed dogs strategically placed all over it...so we just moved one of the dogs a tad bit and voila! Two humping hounds by the side of a bunk bed...much amusement was had:) For the visual experience, check out my photobucket!

I love that I just completely and totally took today off to be with my moderately sick self. Library hopping, zen buddah imitating, connecting with old friends, and talking on the phone for an hour + with this amazing chica named Gretchen who designs wedding cakes for a living...we chatted intimately about meditation, our mutual hatred of winter, and pretty much everything else that popped into our heads...I love convos like this! I capped off my day by cooking myself a feisty eggplant/green pepper/mondo garlic blend and settling in with a dog-eared copy of 'The Alchemist'...me gusta:)

Another brilliant weekend hanging at Marc's lair in Allston--scarfing ice cream at J.P. Lick's in the latest hours of the night & getting kicked out of bookstores for lingering past closing time...all-night conversations & a day spent traipsing around Cambridge (which included a trip to the BIGGEST Whole Foods in the land...uber score!) and then...dinner at a Japanese restaurant called---(you guessed it---) Fugaku! I had my first ever Japanese food and lo and behold fell madly in love with vegetarian sushi:) I truly am officially a spaz, now.

Today was my one and only day off for a while...kicking it in Amherst with my grrrl Renee at Rao's Coffee, drinking an enormous vanilla latte and feeling on-crack-esque for a good 5 hours post-consumption. Having a fabulicious discussion with one of the wisest people I know about everything from yogic scriptures to wacky parents and back again...feeling rejueventated and cleansed...and now..quite possibly sick:(

A weekend well-spent in Allston consuming thai food, learning 'daps,' watching Sex & Lucia and working out hardcore with my new partner in dudeness, Marc. We also spent some quality time at 1369 having the best coffee in the world (found in Central Square) and hanging out with Marc's friend Ed (who I hadn't see in 2 years since we initially met in photo class.) Beaucoup de fun:)

Whew...it's been a craaaazy week...tonight I went out on a date with Dago (aka the Columbian soccor player from work)---hours of him literally feeding me thai food (which was obviously beatific), complimenting me in Spanish, walking around and around an endless track at Framingham State and talking about life and family and relationships and our perceptions of one another and just digging new 'getting to know you' energy:) What is it with me and 'pretty boys'?!!!! Also, I was encouraged by one of the managers to apply for one of the supervisor positions at work...and even though I have been there only 1 month...what the hell, I'm going to go for it!!!!

So here's the latest and greatest news in my mucho random life...I have the habit of always frequenting the same gas station...at which there happens to be an attendant who is young and Brazilian, and absolutely fascinated with my bumper stickers. For weeks, every time I got gas he would tease me about them...finally he ended up asking me where I worked, and I in turn had quite a fun time singing the praises of Whole Foods. He had never heard of the store, and jokingly asked me to bring him something from there...which I promised to do:) Fast forward to last night, when I shocked the hell out of him by showing up for gas at 11 at night toting a banana nut trail mix bar just for him...it was totally worth it to see the look on his face...and even more worth it when he asked me out:)

So today was spent manging on thai food and falafel balls & mucho vegging a la Allston, land of the Marc-meister, Ramon, and no doubt tons of other cool people. Add to that a killer uphill ass-kicking run and tons of random cuddle-time, and you have a well spent day off:) I also had the ultimate pleasure of talking to my sweetie Laurie today...she is somehow working her way through Smith with a gnarly cookie case of mono:( I have more to say, but no time to say it since I am due at work pre-8am for the next 4 days at Whole Foods...no rest for ze weary jenna....

So last night was my first time ever inside of a strip club...luckily I was accompanied by the DUDE himself---my friend Marc. My night essentially consisted of watching completely naked women undulate a few inches away, then stuffing one dollar bills into their garter belt-esque stripper gear. And in the interests of getting the full experience, Marc bought the two of us a lap dance with one of the friskier chicas. I can't believe I'm writing this, but it was lots of fun and surprisingly non-threatening...the whole issue of degredation and sexuality got back burnered for the night, and my brain took a much needed vacation!!!! As with all fabulous nights, thai food and alcohol made a brief cameo amidst all of the chaos:)

Last night was so unexpected...so spontaneous and beautiful that I almost don't know what to say about it. I ended up working till closing and then going out for drinks at Ruby Tuesday with Caius (Amy is celebrating the Jewish holidays, and thus couldn't go...) we closed RT's, ended up at Pizzeria Uno's...closed there as well...by which point we were both rather tipsy and completely open and honest...I can't remember the last time I had such an intense yet platonic hang out encounter with a male friend...we then ended in a random parking lot talking for 4 hours about everything and then, come 4 in the morning, decided on a whim to drive out to Bickford's for a pre-morning breakfast...long story short, last night was my first night in a long time digging the completely sleepless vibe....and then I had to work from 8:30 to 5...oy...but happy:)

So at long last I feel like new and interesting and veerrrrry exciting things are happening for me in my life...things that I would be a total dork to explicate in this journal...so if you want to know, email me:) Last night was spent once again drinking at John Harvard's with Caius and Amy and Jeb...it is always fascinating to find the role that you play in a given group of people...I am told that I am the 'happy perky one,' which is kind of amusing and most definitely makes me feel like a chipmunk on crack or something!Sheesh, this entry is really self-obsessed! Anyway...I hope that you are all doing well & having enjoying some beautiful moments:)

Caius asked me tonight if I considered myself to be pragmatic...given the fact that I just got in from hanging out at John Harvard's with Caius and Amy, and I have to get up tomorrow at 6am, I think that it is safe to say that the answer is a resounding NO! I never expected to find this now...two chill people I can hang out with----drinking my tea while they chug beers, talking about our lives and our fears about adulthood, past relationships, and how we perceive each other...truly brilliant:)

I just got back from drinks out at Ruby Tuesday with two of my fabulicious co-workers, Caius (the aforementioned 26-yr-old actor) and Amy (one of my bosses, and a goofy 28-year old who has traveled widely, is semi-married to a man in Ghana, and has a delightful appreciation of the art of sarcasm)...I worked allllll day today, but despite absolute exhaustion decided to haul my booty back to Framingham with social interaction in mind...I had no idea that I would have such a great time! 2 hours whooshing by, and I truly felt comfortable hanging with these eccentric organicitas:) I also had a really fun time getting to know more co-workers today...AND a cool customer randomly gave me some of the chocolate covered coffee beans that he was buying...just because I was so blatently oogling them...a truly sweet gesture that doesn't usually happen in retail! But...I am working at ze crack of dawn tomorrow, so...in the almighty words of Ace Ventura Pet Detective, 'alrighty then.....' it is off to sheep-counting land pour moi...

Major score---today I found an amazing new yoga place in Worcester...the teacher is all spice & bad-ass/ goofy/tattoo-goddess/mother-of-a-five-ye ar-old energy dorky-like, and the studio is sheer yipee-cay-yi-yay buckets of delight...I followed my transcendently amazing class up with some thai food (mange! mange!) and I was in HEAVEN:) Add to that the fact that my room is finally clean and therefore proudly proclaims the existence of the floor that I always knew was under there somewhere...and life is goooood!

Today was my first full-throttle day-long cashiering extravaganza at Whole Foods...exhausting yet brilliant...the more people I get to know, the more welcome I feel---there are just so many amazing & creative chalupas running around there...not to mention the fact that I am finally meeting some guy friends...something I missed oh-so-much while attending Smith:( I had a great covo with a fellow Dylan-obsessed person today...which inspired me to break out my old casettes and rock out...I just got off the phone with the most amazing woman in the world (aka Terri), and I am definitely riding a serious wave of girlie 'hee-he-hee' energy and aw shucks, I am just a big ole nerd!! And now that I am suitably exhausted and undeniably assured of my productivity, I shall settle down to watch a hipp-kitty-esque movie and drink a pint of water...tra la:)

Today was my last day working on the Tree Canopy at the Ecotarium...and may I just say, I am going to miss it way too much...for reasons that I never would have expected. In spite of the crazy soap-opera level drama that occurs daily among Ecotarium insiders, the people are AMAZING...I have met so many truly kick ass munchkins that I am entirely convinced that this makes up for the whole 'we're a non-profit so we have absolutely no money to pay you' thing:) And now, for a brief attempt at paying homage to the cool-beanesque Eco-peeps... Jaime: 'Yay-me.' Heaps of swirly curly wild & chaotic blond chica hair, adoration for piercings with absolutely no squeemishness attached, hyper-spastic when consuming Red Dye #40, bad-ass looking until she smiles, hot pocket munching, SWAGLY attending, super friendly magical big sister, goofy strong grrrl chalupa. Laurie: 'Mongo!' Take charge kinda womyn, frisky kitty flirt extraordinaire, book worm neurosciencey superstar, dance-around-Old-Navy-singing-show-tunes-with-me buddy, curvy bubbly chocolate-obsessed llama-child of mucho sparkle-ish-ness. Gima: 'Muscles woman.' ROTC dudette, femme fatale, danger to Polish men, sizzles of strappy shoe-ness and carefully coordinated outfits, intensity in ten cities, tough yet all kinds of girlie, faith-fraught, competitive munglet. Yosserian: 'Yo-Yo.' Goofy Mr. 'I know more than yoooou dooooo!', bug-world housing watches, Mr. engagement, trend-meister, door-holder at all costs, indignant ferret, smirky quirky boy. Luis: 'Homie-G.' Bad ass pimp-mobile car man-with-the-plan, 'yo wassup momie' grrl chaser, pull-up grand master, sofa hauler, family protector/sole supporter, dude check out my boom-box & 'protect your nuts' squirrel man. Liz: Superduperdoublelooper desk mistress of all things Eco, mighty mom & goddess of all things fast foody, producer of the most adorable son on ze planet, skinny minnie, thick & feisty hair queen, snarf pigeon of childlike zeal. Stefano: 'Rock Star.' Emo glasses & patience with the speed queen/gate crashing jenna, traphiq-meister song-writer extraordinaire, late night cop evading, musically euphoric with oodles of creativity narb monger. There are many more neato tostito people that deserve mention, but I'm tired & feeling the pain from a frighteningly over-zealous vacuming session (say what??!!) so I'm going to bid adieu to all of you...and to all my wonderful Eco space kitties, call me and we will make a documentary on picasso aspiring llamas or pluck mountain lions in Ecuador of something fun of that ilk:) (617) 510-2071

So I am now the official organic grocery bitch...and strangely enough, I'm starting to like it! I finally have some sense of what I'm doing, and the people at work are starting to be really friendly to me---pluuuus,the workplace culture is really neato tostito because we have people from a multitude of different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds working there...Carolina, the grrrl who trained me today is from Brazil, Roberto is from the Dominican Republic, Flavia is from Uganda, etc etc...it all makes me feel quite boring...oh yeah, and I met a guy who is studying acting at John Robert Powers (aka the modeling agency we've all seen advertised mighty cheesily in teeny-bopper magazines) and is currently in a ganster movie silently beating people up! So yeah, not the most boring place on earth to work:) I swear I am going through some weird adjustment reaction to losing my boyfriend to a country that specializes in green goat balls with hollandaise sauce and various forms of fried/breaded/gnarly meat products...I am not only cleaning my room (which if you know me would already scare you...) I am donating a good chunk of my clothes and my books to charity in the hopes of feeling a teensy bit less claustrophobic until I get my own apartment...all of which is starting to remind me of some bizarre kind of reverse nesting. Finally, I don't smoke---but ohhhh boyyyy would I love a cigarette right now...what I wouldn't give for a posse of amazing people and a pack of vanilla clove cigarettes and a possibly a bag of carob covered banana chips right about now....*sigh*
